AMX-1A
Sigtronics Audio Bus Expansion Device.
Replaces expensive audio panel for most applications, greatly
simplifies wiring. |

RM-1B
Wiring Harness Expander for the Rocky Mountain Instrument
Micromonitor Engine Monitor
Lowers cost, increases reliability and servicability over
hand-wired equivalent and allows for removable panels. |

IL-4A, IL-12A
Four and Twelve-Channel Annunciator Lamp Controller.
External controller for incandescent and LED lamps. Senses high,
low and reversing switches. Dimmable and supports lamp test function. |
ANNUNCIATOR LAMP CONTROLLER
IL-4A, IL-12A

IL-4A Datasheet (.pdf)
The IL-4A device is a four channel
annunciator lamp controller. It allows monitoring of up to eight circuits for a
mix of active-high (powered) or active low (grounded) switched inputs. Two
isolated inputs per channel share one annuciator lamp. Flexible power source
inputs are provided, allowing lamp dimming from a panel dimmer bus, or powering
from redundant sources.
The IL-4A device drives LED lamps or
incandescent lamps up to 100 mA each. A push-to-test input allows integrity
testing for all lamps.
Either wire-tail mounting or
connectorized mounting is supported when ordered with the optional D-Sub
connectors.

The IL-12A is identical in function to
the IL-4A, except it is provided in 12-channel form on one circuit board
assembly.

AUDIO BUS EXPANSION DEVICE
for
SIGTRONICS PRODUCTS
AMX-1A

AMX-1A Datasheet (.pdf)
The AMX-1A is an audio bus expansion
device that simplifies the connection of shielded audio wiring to Sigtronics
SPA-400 and Sport-200 intercoms*. It adapts the 12-pin intercom box connector
to a 50-pin D-Sub connector for local panel wiring, and to an optional 15-pin
D-Sub connector for off-panel wiring, such as remote or back seat headset
jacks or stick-mounted switches.
Four of the ten audio channels are
provided with on-board series resistors, allowing direct connection to
low-impedance audio sources such as some VHF Comms and external music inputs.
One audio channel supports a volume control to simplify the connection to
sources that do not allow audio level control, such as some EFIS systems or
engine monitors.
All audio connections have two grounds
associated with them-- which may be connected to cable shields and signal
grounds, as required. Controls such as push-to-transmit signals each have one
associated ground. This plethora of grounds greatly simplifies the wiring of
any required shielded cable.
Go to
www.sigtronics.com for more
information on the SPA-400 and Sport-200 intercoms.
*Note: Can be used with Sport 200S
(stereo) intercoms, however headsets and music inputs must be wired directly
to the intercom. The AMX-1A is then used to support all of the monophonic
audio sources.

Wiring Harness Expander
for the
Rocky Mountain Instrument "Micromonitor Engine
Monitor"
RM-1B

RM-1B Datasheet (.pdf)
The RM-1B device simplifies the wiring
to a RMI Micromonitor engine monitor by providing two expansion connectors.
Firewall forward connections use a 50 pin D-Sub and panel connections use a
15-pin D-Sub. Using two connectors this way allows for a panel to be
disconnected and removed from the aircraft.
The RM-1B device mounts directly to the
back of the Micromonitor controller tray, replacing the stock 36 pin edge
connector. On-board volume control allows the adjustment of audio levels
without disassembling the engine monitor. An optional board mounted alarm
buzzer is available, simplifying wiring and mechanical mounting.
On-board transient voltage suppression
helps to protect the engine monitor from electrical surges on the main
electrical bus.
The RM-1B device supports the
Micromonitor serial input/output capability (announced March, 2005).

D-Sub connectors come in several
styles from different manufacturers. They are available from traditional
electronic distributors such as Digikey
www.digikey.com, or Mouser
www.mouser.com; or from
aviation sources such as Affordable Panels
(www.affordablepanels.com).
Recommended parts are the Norcomp
Series 170 connector plugs and sockets and Series 977 or 977 backshells. Amp
Series 109 machined pins are recommended (yes, they do fit in the Norcomp
plugs and sockets). Crimpers and insertion/removal tools are also available.
All are available from
www.affordablepanels.com who also can provide all of the wiring supplies that you require.
Affordable Panel part numbers:
DB-9TM 9 pin male plug
DB-9TF 9 pin female socket
DB-09HS 9 pin backshell
DB-15TM 15 pin male plug
DB-15TF 15 pin female socket
DB-15HS 15 pin backshell
BC-S01 machined sockets
BC-P01 machined pins
APT-010 insertion/removal tool
APT-006 machined pin crimp tool
(Note Affordable Panels offers plugs
and connectors in both tin and zinc versions)
At this time, Affordable
Panels do not offer a 50-pin plug, connector or backshell.
These may
be obtained from Digi-Key using the following part numbers:
Norcomp 750M-ND 50 pin male plug
Norcomp 750F-ND 50 pin female connector
Norcomp 950GM-ND or 950GP-ND 50 pin backshell
