This autopilot combines the
superb performance of our Digitrak with a real aircraft flight instrument, the
pictorial turn coordinator. It also contains a digital DG for viewing when the
AP is not engaged. When the AP is engaged this display becomes the heading
selector. We have previously taken the position that we would not combine the
turn coordinator function with an AP until we could do it right. Need we say
more?

The GPS Nav Mode is used for following a programmed flight plan in a GPS. The autopilot will fly to, intercept, and
follow the flight plan, including turning at any waypoints that may be in the flight plan.

True Control Wheel Steering
True control wheel steering means that upon release of the control wheel switch, the system synchronizes
to the direction of flight and vertical speed, in units with vertical speed select. This is the only multi-servo autopilot system
available with this feature.
Built-in Pictorial Turn & Bank
In contrast to the turn coordinator, the Pictorial Turn & Bank provides a display that agrees with the artificial horizon,
and likewise the real horizon. The dynamic performance of this display is equal to that of an artificial horizon.

Turn and Bank
This display is like a horizon in roll and actually moves in unison with the horizon. This makes the transition from viewing the horizon much easier than the reverse display of a standard turn coordinator. For much greater life and reliability it uses a solid state gyro instead of a spinning disc.

This is the first digital autopilot expressly designed to interface with EFIS systems. It provides dedicated, easy-to-use controls and total redundancy in case of EFIS failure.
It is designed to interface with modern systems to provide lateral and vertical
steering from standard ARINC-429 digital outputs. It is capable of flying
coupled precision GPS approaches as they become available.
The dedicated controls within the autopilot are designed to be quick to use and
easy to understand, reducing pilot workload. Just as it is in the latest airline
and top-of-the-line corporate aircraft the autopilot function in experimental
aircraft is best served by a stand alone autopilot.
The performance of this family of autopilots surpasses even that of our DFC-250
which is superior to any other products available in this market.
Systems capable of producing lateral and vertical ARINC-429 steering are: EFIS
Horizon (Grand Rapids Technologies), CNX80 (UPSAT), Sierra EFIS-SV (Chelton),
ICDS (ARNAV), Flight OP 200 (OP Technologies).
Basic MODE
Autopilot synchronizes to track and vertical
speed upon engage.
VS Select MODE
Push ALT - cursor moves to underline vertical
speed, vertical speed and altitude hold are selected by rotating knob.
GPSS MODE
Push MODE to enter or leave GPS lateral
steering - cursor moves and stays under SVS.
GPSS - GPSV MODE
With system already in GPSS mode, push ALT to
enter or leave GPSV function.

The Yaw Damper employs

rate gyro to damp out short term yaw
oscillation, and a transverse accelerometer
to control rudder position long term, so as
