The  Inspection

    During Oshkosh 2000, I finally got "Van" himself to take a peek at my canopy modification.  It was tough getting him to slot a time to walk over.  He was very tired from traveling and setting up the Van's Aircraft booth that year.  Once he arrived, he looked at the modification for a moment or two.  He then asked me to tip it up and down several times.  After several more moments,  he said; "Well, I can't really find anything wrong with it".  That's all I needed.  Great!  I took this as his OK on my design.   Other RVers that year really seemed to like the mod after they figured out why I did it.
