CUSTOM

CANOPIES

YES, we also make your custom canopy or windshield and give you the same NO CRACK installation guarantee.  Here's what we need from you, in order to provide you with an optically perfect canopy:

QUOTE  INFO:   Want a quick PRICE?

Before we can give you a price, we need to know:

1.) Overall length, overall width, overall height?

    2.) Canopy Thickness?

We presently make most of our canopies starting with 3/16" or 1/4" acrylic.

Thickness will vary after forming.  Inquire about acrylic of any other thicknesses.

3.) Canopy Tint, Clear, Light Grey tint, Dark Grey Tint?

We do NOT recommend the dark tint for IFR or night flight.

    4.) Quantity?

5.) We need a picture of the canopy shape you require.  Give us an internet link to a similar canopy,

          plane, or canopy frame.

Here is a list of different methods that we have used to fabricate custom canopies:

1.) Send us 3-view diagrams.  Full scale makes it much easier, but is not required.
2.) Send us an old or damaged canopy.  We have even used canopies that have been cracked in three pieces.
3.) Send us full-scale templates of the front and side view.
4.) Send us shapes made out of fiberglass, foam or plaster of Paris.

5.) Send us pictures of the aircraft with dimensions and a lot of verbal description.
6.) Send me a canopy frame.  We made several canopies to fit frames.

What can you provide to allow us to fabricate your canopy?   We guarantee success and high quality!

How will your canopy look after it is finished?

We normally make the canopies in one piece, and then ship them.  There is normally a 3 to 4 inch lip left on the bottom of our canopies.  It is normally left up to the customer to cut the canopy.  Our standard canopies are 3/16" thick.  Areas of your canopy will vary in thickness after forming.

To speed up your custom canopy order, . . .

We need full sized drawings for your canopy.  This is what we work with to get the canopy made, (full size!).

We can also use (and desire) full scale cross sections of your canopy, . . every 6" of the canopy, from front to the rear of your canopy.  Where the windshield changes shape over a shorter length, we may need to use a shorter section increment.  If you can supply us with full size cross section templates, this would speed up things.
